OpenSea launches an on-chain copyright tool
NFT marketplace OpenSea is launching a new on-chain tool to help creators enforce royalties.
OpenSea CEO Devin Finzer described the tool in question as a simple piece of code. This code allows creators to copyright new and future NFT collections in smart contracts and updatable smart contracts.
Finzer noted that people do not have to use this new special solution tool, and creators can use whatever solution they want.
As implementation difficulties may arise, the new royalty tool will not be available for existing NFT collections.
Google Cloud adds support for Solana
Google Cloud is adding support for Solana to facilitate access to data. The company previously supported Ethereum.
The support for Solana in BigQuery would be added to facilitate access to Solana data. Google Cloud is also working to bring Solana support to the Blockchain Node Engine, which means that anyone will be able to kickstart a new Solana node in the cloud.
According to Nalin Mittal, Google Cloud web3 leader, Solana will become available in the Blockchain Node Engine in the first quarter of 2023.
